GamesAid charity nominations for 2014 now open
GamesAid charity nominations are now officially open. All year round GamesAid Members, friends and supporters raise funds though a plethora of activities. Then, each summer the organisation’s thoughts turn to how these sums will be allocated to a number of charities who support children and young people in the UK.
‘The Last of Us: Remastered’ brings the critically acclaimed title to PS4 this week, debuting at the top of the All Formats Chart just like the PS3 original did over a year ago. It becomes the 5th biggest launch of the year so far and the 4th biggest PS4 launch ever, sitting just behind ‘Infamous: Second Son’. Last week’s No1 ‘Watch Dogs’ (+3%) has to settle for 2nd place and ‘FIFA 14’ (+12%) also drops one place, down to No3. However, with the school holidays now in full swing, sales of all Top 10 titles (except GTA V) are up. ‘The Lego Movie Videogame’ enjoys the biggest Top 10 sales

Ukie and Nesta’s Video Games Mentor Network launched in April to enable businesses to access help and advice from established industry leaders to support their growth. Following an open call for applications, eight mentees have now been chosen and paired with a mentor whose skills, expertise and knowledge matched their business needs.

After 3 weeks at No2 ‘Watch Dogs’ (-18%) returns to top spot claiming its 4th No1 crown. With almost no new releases this week familiar faces shuffle around the Top 10. ‘Sniper Elite 3’ (-53%) drops down to No2 holding off ‘FIFA 14’ (-3%) which is less than 200 sales behind. ‘Wolfenstein: The New Order’ (+6%) climbs a place to No4 thanks to retail promotions. The PS4 version is the biggest beneficiary with an increase of just over 19% on last week. EA’s ‘Titanfall’ (-15%) slips down to No5 just ahead of ‘Call of Duty: Ghosts’ (+3%) which is static at No6.
