‘UFC Undisputed 3’ wins THQ their first All Formats No1 since ‘Homefront’ back in W11 last year. Last week’s No1 ‘Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning’ (-63%) falls out of the Top 10, slipping to No12. There are no other new entries in the Top 40 this week, however retailer promotions mean there’s a lot of shuffling of positions with every Top 10 game except ‘Final Fantasy XIII-2’ and ‘The Darkness 2’ increasing in sales. ‘FIFA 12’ (+21%) and ‘Modern Warfare 3’ (+29%) both benefit, up 3 and 4 places respectively to No’s 2 and 3, while ‘Mario and Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games’ (+94%) puts in a herculean effort, boosted by a new 3DS version the previous week, this time a discounted Wii version helps propel it even further; to its highest ever chart position – up from No10 to No4. ‘Battlefield 3’ (+10%) remains a Top 10 contender climbing one place to No5, while Final Fantasy XIII-2 (-42%) drops 4 places to No6. ‘Skylanders’ (+65%) is another game jumping to a highest ever chart placing, up from No14 to No7 and with Amalur falling, is the only new IP to feature in the Top 10 this week. ‘The Darkness 2’ (-43%) falls 5 places to No8, while ‘Skyrim’ (+1%) holds on to No9 for another week. ‘Just Dance 3’ (+9%) moves up 2 places to No10, overtaking ‘Assassin’s Creed: Revelations’ (-15%) to become Ubisoft’s top selling game this week.
