We're happy to say that the UK stand at gamescom 2016 will be a Great British Tea Party! Previous exhibitors will know that every year we pick a theme to thoroughly celebrate the Best of British, as a testament to the brilliant British companies that come out to the UK stand with us. You can check out photos from last year's Royal themed stand from 2015 here.
The stand this year will be adorned with all the usual Ukie extravaganza that comes along with us to overseas expos, including the miles of bunting that has become the focal point of our UK stand at all of the big international shows, as well as a daily afternoon tea served on the stand, sweet treats for exhibitors, garden games to entertain visitors, and lots of other British shenanigans to look forward to.
We already have a brilliant list of companies that are confirmed to exhibit, including:
Bundlestars / Focus Multimedia
Edge Case Games
Green man Gaming
Norther Ireland Screen
Pole to Win
Vision Games Publishing
These companies will be treated to a daily afternoon tea courtesy of Pole to Win, and endless coffee and tea all day, provided with thanks from Amiqus, both of whom will be joining us on the stand. Breakfast pastries will be provided each morning by GlobalStep, and the stand will be kept spillage free with coasters being sponsored by Take Off.
The UK stand is also well known for its after-hours networking and socialising, and this year we will be hosting two drink receptions on the stand on Wednesday and Thursday. PlayStack are sponsoring one event, and there is the chance for another company to sponsor the second drinks reception, which will be attended by over 500 people and is a great opportunity to get your games business seen by everyone - and you get to buy everyone a beer! Email Sam to find out how you can sponsor the drinks at the number one UK networking event at gamescom 2016.
Finally, the UK Game of the Show Award is returning to gamescom 2016! The trophy will be awarded to the best UK developed, but as yet unreleased game being shown at the expo. This is the fourth year of the prestigious award being presented at gamescom, and was won last year by Robo Pixel Games for Gunnihilation. The guys from Robo Pixel Games were given their trophy and found themselves being interviewed by BBC Radio One Newsbeat. The anonymous judges have been handselected, and NewBay Media are the wonderful media partners for the event, but the award still needs it's sponsor! Email Sam to discuss sponsorship options for the award.
The UK stand is very nearly sold out, so this is the last chance to grab a package and come along to the world's biggest games expo with Ukie. We have a very limited number of meeting tables and demo kiosks left, so email Sam if you want to grab one while you can.
