Cryptonite crowned UK Champions 2018
Four of our regional champions from across the UK headed to Gfinity’s London arena yesterday, to battle it out for the coveted trophy, designed by a father-daughter duo representing Creative Assembly. After fierce competition playing Blizzard’s Overwatch, Cryptonite for The Crypt School came out on top and went home the winners.
The Digital Schoolhouse powered by PlayStation National Esports Qualifiers are well underway, with two teams already reigning Regional Champions following this week’s competition with Blizzard’s Overwatch in Manchester and Staffordshire.
Shadow Creative Industries Minister meets Cambridge games companies
Ukie took senior Labour party MP Chris Bryant, to meet companies from Cambridge’s exciting games cluster last week.
The event was kindly hosted by Jagex, who gave Chris a tour of their studio and talked him through the history and future of their company, as well as the many different creative processes that go into making a game.

Ukie today welcomed the House of Lords Select Committee on Digital Skills report 'Make or Break: The UK’s Digital Future', published 17 February, calling on government to recognise the link between digital skills, infrastructure and future competitiveness.
