Taking place on Friday May 19th at the Cavendish Conference Centre in London, the Women in Games Awards 2017 will see MCV, Develop and eSports Pro celebrate the huge variety of female talent in the games industry across eight categories including: New Development Talent, Creative Impact, Rising Star, Businesswoman of the Year, Career Mentor, eSports Contender, Outstanding Contribution and Breakthrough Talent.
Today, games trade publication MCV launched its Digital Counts Campaign. This campaign aims to encourage publishers, developers and platforms to share their sales data for digital games. The ultimate aim being the creation of comprehensive UK charts of the best-selling games in the UK across boxed and digital titles.
UK consumer spend on games increased 13% in 2014 to £3.944bn
The latest incarnation of MCV’s annual games consumer spend analysis has revealed that the UK market rose 13% year on year in 2014. Consumer spend rose from £3.48bn in 2013 to £3.944bn leaving the UK market tantalisingly short of the £4bn mark.
