Ukie Student Membership Partnership Packages 2019/20

The Ukie Student Membership is a cornerstone of industry engagement with academia in the UK. Through this innovative programme, industry supports and shapes the growth of skills and talent in the UK. We currently have a reach of over 40 institutions and 3,000 students, with new institutions joining throughout the year and this number expected to grow. Our Ukie Students programme slots into the talent pipeline and supports graduates with integrating into industry and improving skills. We have a comprehensive programme of activities planned for the year and your company would be a huge supporter of this with minimal resources required from yourselves.

We have some of the best institutions in the country registered to the programme; Abertay University in Dundee, Staffordshire University and East London University to name a few. As such, the calibre of graduates these institutions put out is incredible, with students going on to work for the likes of Epic Games, Rocksteady, Rockstar, Playground Games and other highly recognised game developers/publishers. A lot of students become developers, designers and artists, but equally, others develop entrepreneurial skills and go on to be product managers, community managers and PR managers. Every graduate speaks highly of the Ukie Student Membership programme, with many coming back to talk at the conferences or helping as mentors during the annual Ukie Student Game Jam. One thing we’re incredibly proud of is how socially active our student members are. Whenever there is an event, our students get fully behind it across twitter, Facebook and other social platforms.

Game Jam Options –

  • October 2019
  • March 2020

The highly anticipated Ukie Student Game Jam is returning for its sixth year in October and then for a seventh in March 2020.

Both Game Jams will feature teams from across the UK in our student membership of over 3,000 students.

The theme for the Jam will be announced at 9:30am, then competing teams will have 30 hours to brainstorm, plan and create a playable game demo. Each team will be assigned an industry mentor who will be on hand to help and advise the teams along the way. The most supportive mentor will win the ‘Mentor of the Universe’ trophy.

The games will be judged by a panel of industry experts and veterans (including our lovely sponsors). Prizes are awarded for “Best Game” and “Accessibility award” for the game that’s most accessible to players of all abilities.
