About the Tentacle Workspace

The Tentacle Zone is an independent developer community initiative founded and coordinated by Payload Studios. The mission is to help small indies and startups connect, share knowledge and resources, and collaborate for mutual success.

This began with sharing floor space at games expos like EGX and Insomnia. We got some giant inflatable tentacles as a way to attract attention, and the space became known as the Tentacle Zone. We’ve expanded this steadily and now take 50-100 sqm at about five shows per year, in addition to organising the entire Indie Zone at Insomnia.

When we moved into our current office in Farringdon, London, we decided to add co-working space to the Tentacle Zone offering through the Tentacle Workspace, and we now have four other teams sharing with us. We also use the premises as an events venue, with a busy program covering a range of relevant subjects, such as marketing, technology, business and diversity, as well as game jams and social mixers.

We offer desk space from 1 person to 20 people and if you wanted a quick tour or the space or a chat about what benefits residents receive, please contact
