International Trade Activities

Ukie is here to support the trade activities of its members and the wider games community. This includes supporting businesses with market knowledge and access to international markets. Here is a summary of some of the current and forthcoming opportunities to develop your trade and investment activities.

International trade shows

Ukie organises UK industry stands at major global games events to encourage international trade and investment opportunities. Many events are supported with grants for companies choosing to exhibit and showcase their games, including Gamescom Cologne, GDC San Francisco and China Joy.

Our next show is GDC San Francisco, 18 - 20 March 2020

Ukie will be managing a UK industry stand at GDC 2020 in San Francisco to showcase the amazing work of games companies in the UK and to connect them to potential partners.

Key facts about the UK stand

  • The UK stand is right at the epicentre of the main hall located next to Google, Microsoft and SONY – so there will be plenty of traffic
  • Business wins of £21m were achieved last year - this space works!
  • Flexible packages are available including dedicated tables, demo stations and meeting rooms
  • Check out the early bird rates, member discounts and opportunity to apply for a DIT TAP grant worth £2,000 to lower the cost of exhibiting

The UK drinks reception will be on Wednesday 18 March.

Booking forms are available on the Ukie website. For more information contact sam@ukie.org.uk

Trade missions

Ukie organises trade missions to emerging markets in conjunction with DIT. We use DIT staff in post to support networking and market access. Our most recent missions were China Joy in Shanghai and G Star in Korea.

Trade Mission Tips

Effective communication is essential to the success of any business venture. But more than just the language spoken, it’s how the message is conveyed that’s important. Our partner Crayfish.io have created an easy to use Q&A guide on cultural tips when visiting China. This can be found here.
