Our Ukie Student Conference North is back and bigger than ever with over 450 tickets distributed to our Ukie student network from all over the UK. The conference is back at Staffordshire University on Wednesday 25 October for a day of inspiring talks and exclusive workshops and panel sessions.
Thanks to sponsorship from Jagex, Epic Games, Amiqus, Creative Assembly and support from Staffordshire University, we've been able to grow the conference bigger than ever before. Thanks to Staffordshire universities media team we will be able to live stream and record all the talks and panels reaching more Ukie Students with valuable opportunities to gain unique insight from, and network with, games industry insiders. Streams will be available here on our Twitch and Youtube.
The talks will deliver expert advice from all disciplines in the games sector, from programming, art and design, to publishing careers in PR, marketing and community management. As well as insight into the rapidly growing UK eSports industry.
We're thrilled to have speakers from Epic, TT Games, Jagex , Exient Creative Assembly, Pixel Toys and Sold Out coming to the conference to share their experiences breaking into and building successful careers in the games sector with the next generation of industry talent.
Our popular mini expo will be returning giving students the opportunity to network and get hands on help from companies including Amiqus, Creative Assembly and Digital Schoolhouse giving students one on one time with the industry speakers after the talks.
Amiqus will be holding an all-day drop in centre for students to help them prepare themselves for the job market. They’ll be on volunteering their time to give one-to-one advice on career paths, CVs, portfolios and job applications, and much more. Students are encouraged to bring CVs and work portfolios along to the conference to make the most of this unique opportunity to get personalised industry feedback.
