Ukie Student Conferences call for speakers

Back by popular demand, Ukie’s annual Student Conference returns. This years conferences will be held at Staffordshire University and Abertay University

The Ukie Student Conferences will be held at Staffordshire University on Wednesday 24th October and at Abertay University on 31st October, and will feature a day of inspiring talks, CV workshops and an exclusive expo area for over 200 students from Ukie’s Student Membership programme. Ukie is calling for a small army of diverse games industry volunteers, whatever job and level they are in, to help make it happen.

If you're in the games industry, Ukie invites you to submit a short proposal for a talk or an interactive workshop that you would like to run to inspire and inform the next generation of games talent. Ukie is looking for diverse and interesting stories and content, to give students as wide a perspective as possible of what it’s like working in games and how successful careers can built.

To submit a talk please complete this form or email kirstie@ukie.org.uk with your idea.

The last Ukie Student Conference held at Staffordshire University, saw over 300 students and lecturers gather to hear talks from over 25 professionals in the industry, covering creative game design, emerging business models, PR and player strategy, as well as individuals sharing their experiences working in the UK games sector.

You can check out some the previous talks from Ukie’s Student Conferences here to see what you're getting yourself in for!

If you'd like to speak at the Ukie Student Conference at either Staffordshire University or Abertay University, or would like to have an expo table, all you need to do is fill out the online form. There are limited slots available so please complete and submit the form before the deadline on Friday 14 September.

We are also looking for sponsors and those who are interested in getting involved with upcoming Ukie Student activities. If this sounds like something you’d like to be involved with, please get in touch with leon@ukie.org.uk, or see below for the student sponsorship packages attached as a PDF.
