Family Game Database: Ukie supports beta launch of resource to help families discover new games

Today, we're supporting the beta launch of a new curated Family Game Database to help parents and carers discover suitable games for their children.

The resource features nearly 300 games, each of which have been handpicked by www.askaboutgames.com editor Andy Robertson, and explains:

  • An overview of each game
  • How much time each game takes to complete
  • Age rating details (including whether games do or do not feature in game purchases)
  • Recommendations of other similar games to inspire further play

As well as being a fully searchable database, the resource also includes a range of curated game lists including a dedicated section for games that can help people through the current coronavirus crisis (such as good games for online co-operation, exercise games and calming titles).

The launch has been supported by Ukie as part of this year'sĀ Get Smart About PLAY campaign, which encourages parents and carers to play games with their children to help them manage it effectively (including through the use of parental controls).

You can find out more about why the Family Game Database was created by reading this post on www.askaboutgames.com.
