Games Development Matchmaking Platform SupplyDrop Announced with Mission to Solve Project Ramp Up/Ramp Down Hiring Issues Inherent in the Video Games Industry

SupplyDrop allows studios to find short-term work for those who are currently not on a project and find developers who have the specific skills a studio needs when they need it.

With a mission to empower games development studios to build better, stronger and more stable teams, SupplyDrop connects studios that have too many developers with those who have too few during the games development cycle. SupplyDrop is an intuitive, easy to use matchmaking platform built specifically for video games development.

SupplyDrop will be free of fees for the first several months, to gather feedback and to streamline the platform. Following the introductory period, SupplyDrop will implement updates along with a to-be-announced fee structure.

SupplyDrop matches studios with companies that fit their needs and solves the inherent problem of the games development project cycle, helping to avoid the pitfalls of hiring developers during the final ramp up of a game development project, and then lay them off during the cooldown period once a project has launched.

Using SupplyDrop is easy, simply register your studio and team members, select the skills that they are an expert in and mark them as being available during a set time period. When a company searches for someone with skills matching the people you have marked during the same time range, your company will appear as a potential partner. If a match is made you then receive a message asking for further information.

“SupplyDrop came from the needs of running a small studio in Vienna and trying to find short-term work for our team to survive until the next project begins. With SupplyDrop, studios can match developers with companies that best fit their needs”, said Andrew Hance, Founder of SupplyDrop. “We’ve built SupplyDrop, for times when studios don't have enough projects on and have spare capacity, as well as times when they really need specialist expertise to get the project finished on time but can't find it”.
