Europlay 2021 – Viewfinder emerges victorious in second ever European video games contest

The winner of this year’s Europlay unreleased games competition has been announced as part of the official Gamescom programme.

Viewfinder by Robot Turtle walked away with this year’s prize following fierce competition, and in the wake of over 10,000 public votes, from a further 15 unreleased games from across Europe.

The game secured the victory on behalf of the United Kingdom, making it the second ever Europlay winner – and the first ever British victor - following last year’s inaugural event.

Matt Stark, Game Director at Robot Turtle, said: "We're thrilled to have won - again! Thanks so much to everyone who voted for your continued support of Viewfinder, and to Europlay for giving a platform to some really exciting games."

Ben Ellis, Publishing Scouting Team Manager at Kwalee said: “It was really difficult to choose a winner because there were so many amazing games on show."

"Viewfinder was a fantastic game and a worthy winner, but if we could have chosen 16 winners we definitely would have.”
