February 11, 2020: Tandem Events, organisers of Develop:Brighton, today announced a new track for the 2020 conference designed to cover the global mobile gaming market estimated to be worth £52.7 billion.
Develop:Brighton 2020 takes place from Tuesday 14 to Thursday 16 July at the Hilton Brighton Metropole with this year’s expo running from Wednesday 15 July.
Tuesday 14 January: Speaker submissions are now open for Develop:Brighton 2020, with organisers Tandem Events inviting game developers to submit their proposals by Wednesday February 19.
Develop:Brighton 2020 will take place at the Hilton Brighton Metropole from Tuesday 14 to Thursday 16 July, 2020.
Game Dev Heroes has announced the shortlists for the 2019 Game Dev Heroes awards.
After received more than 550 nominations the Game Dev Heroes team have closeted themselves away, refining down the entries to create shortlists of 8 nominees for each of the 11 award categories.
Each category received loads of inspirational and heartfelt submissions, demonstrating the strength of support across the industry for the sentiment of the awards.

The visit highlighted Brighton’s place as a bustling cluster for games development and provided an opportunity for Caroline to meet some of the fantastic talent working there. Home to nearly 80 games companies, Brighton is a major games development hub and hosts international organisations to small, vibrant start ups.
The University of Brighton partners with local AAA developers to host Brighton’s first GAY(M) JAM, a collaborative competition celebrating inclusion and diversity within gaming.
Dr Panagiotis Fotaris, Games course leader at the University of Brighton commented “With such huge potential as a storytelling format, games are a great opportunity to respectfully explore and depict various identities and orientations. The GAY(M) JAM allowed participants to develop games that promoted LGBTQ+ inclusivity and depicted sexuality in a positive way.”
