The Digital Schoolhouse is making a difference!
It’s proven; that after only a month of workshops, initial findings indicate that the Digital Schoolhouse improves teaching pedagogy and pupil achievement. Digital Schoolhouse lead teachers have reported that the training and process of planning and delivering workshops has improved their knowledge and understanding of teaching pedagogy and had a positive impact on improving their teaching techniques from KS2 – KS5.

Some of our amazing VGAs discuss their experiences of being involved in the video game ambassadors scheme at EGX.
Some of our amazing VGAs discuss their experiences being part of the scheme
At this year’s EGX, Ukie co-ordinated a games industry careers genius bar in the GI fair. More than 30 video game ambassadors (VGAs) volunteered across the four days of the show giving a series of workshops, panels, talks and C.V/Portfolio sessions to help inspire the next generation of video game talent. We caught up with James Schall, Joanna Orland and Caitlin Goodale after their genius bar sessions to hear about their experiences being a video game ambassador.
The Digital Schoolhouse has gotten off to an explosive start this year. Since the Digital Schoolhouses opened their doors less than a month ago, we have already worked with approx. 500 pupils and have run over 17 workshops so far. Initial confirmed bookings are indicating that by the end of November approximately 1000 pupils or more will have walked through our doors and left feeling inspired. Initial feedback from schools has been highly positive, and primary schools are already booking return visits for their pupils.

We want members' views on three new consultations that have been launched.
Addressing different aspects of the digital economy, these all address issues which Ukie has been working on for a long time. We will be responding to each in turn, and need member input to ensure we are accurately representing the views of the games industry.
We have opened a forum discussion on the three consultations, where you can give us your thoughts. Alternatively you can email Andy directly to discuss in private.
