Government announces £30 million Games Growth Package

Government announces £30 million Games Growth Package at London Games Festival

Ukie welcomes Government’s announcement of a £30 million Games Growth Package, launched to coincide with the opening of the London Games Festival, an event we were delighted to attend and celebrate with the industry last night.

The package includes an expanded UK Games Fund of £28.5 million, offering grants across three tracks; Entry (up to £20,000), Emergent (up to £100,000), and Expansion (up to £250,000), to support studios at every stage of development. A further £1.5 million has been awarded to the London Games Festival over three years to strengthen its role as a global showcase for British talent and investment.

Today also marks the launch of the UK Esports Advisory Panel, a new industry-led forum convened by Ukie. The Panel provides structured, evidence-based engagement between Government and the esports sector, bringing together senior voices from publishers, teams, events, grassroots and education. It is a single, trusted voice to help Government get esports right. The Government has confirmed it will engage with the Panel as part of its wider plans for the sector. More details on membership and workplan to follow.

Nick Poole OBE, Chief Executive of Ukie, said:

“We welcome the Government’s Games Growth Package as a strong vote of confidence in the UK games industry. Targeted support across the development pipeline will help studios start, scale and stay globally competitive. We will continue working closely with Government to support growth, drive innovation, and create high-quality jobs across the country.”
