Ukie reacts to the Chancellor’s Autumn Budget

Wednesday 26th November 2025

Today’s Budget, delivered amid difficult economic conditions, sets out how the Government plans to stabilise public finances while backing sectors that can help drive future growth. However, the measures announced today highlight the ongoing need for targeted support to ensure high-growth industries like video games can realise their full economic and cultural potential as the UK strengthens its economic foundations.

Ukie CEO, Nick Poole said:

“Today’s Budget proposed measures to address immediate fiscal pressures as the government looks to secure long-term economic growth. Going forward, we remain confident that targeted measures for the UK’s games and interactive entertainment industry can drive significant economic and cultural value for the UK.

Introducing a Games Growth Relief would give studios the support they need to scale, create high-quality jobs and compete globally. It is an intervention that aligns with the ambitions set out in the Creative Industries Sector Plan.

We will continue to work constructively with Ministers and officials to make the case for this relief. Our industry has the talent, ideas and potential to drive economic growth and, with the right policy environment, can help deliver the investment and innovation the country needs.”
