Ukie’s responds to the Chancellor’s Spring Spending Review

The Government’s Spending Review 2025 outlines its plans to invest in the UK’s long-term security, health, and economic growth. With departmental budgets set through to 2029-30 and a renewed focus on building strong economic foundations, supporting global trade, and prioritising productivity, the review sets the tone for the country’s future direction.

The review comes at a time when the UK economy has shown signs of resilience and growth. Against this backdrop, Ukie welcomes continued investment in key areas that support innovation, skills, and the forthcoming Industrial Strategy, all vital to the success of the UK’s globally competitive games and interactive entertainment sector.

Ukie CEO, Nick Poole said:

We’re pleased that today’s Spending Review confirms continued funding for DCMS, signalling the Government’s continued recognition of the UK’s games and interactive entertainment industry as a key contributor to wider economic growth.

Ukie has been pleased to contribute to the forthcoming Creative Sector Plan within the Industrial Strategy, which we hope will include meaningful measures to unlock growth in our sector by supporting talent, driving innovation and investment, and helping ensure the UK remains a globally competitive hub for game development.

We remain ready to work with Government to help shape and deliver the practical support needed to supercharge our industry.
