Ukie Student Game Jam 2017 winners revealed

We are very pleased to annouce the three winning teams from the fourth annual Ukie Student game jam. 

Best Game - "My Body, My Choice" by A Jam Gem from NFTS 

Team Members - Gracie Drake, Daisy Fernandez, Shane Hou, Joel Marshall and Michael Murray.

Best Concept - "Legion" by The Senate from Chester University 

Team Members - Connor Ellis, Lewis Williams, Taylor Collins, Lewis Waddle, George Evans and Jack Partridge.

Accessibility Award - "Enlighten" by Studio 170 from Brunel University 

Team Members - Andrew Merrick, Lara Coulson, Kaneez Abbas and Milo Bygrave.

The standard of all the games this year was extremely high, making it a tough decision for our panel of judges. We would like to congratulate the three winning teams and their mentors for making such enjoyable and polished games in the limited time given. 

Mentor of the Universe goes to Byron Atkinson Jones from Xiotex Studios who went above and beyond mentoring over at Westminster University this year. 

Huge thanks to all of the mentors for their time helping the student teams the feedback for all mentors was overwhelmingly positive. 

This year's game jam was sponsored by Criterion Games, Gram Games and Unity and ran from the 17th - 19th May. 21 teams from Ukie's student membership competed against each other to create a winning game in 48 hours, using the theme 'Empowerment".
