Learn how to pitch with confidence.
This is a one-day in-person workshop delivered by communication coach Jon Torrens (Game Devs - Jon Torrens) to give game developers tools to boost their pitching confidence and continue their growth after the session. This session includes practical pitching experience with feedback.
You will learn how to:
- Create an effective structure for your pitch.
- Engage the audience and keep their attention.
- Capitalise on your team and their strengths.
- Create a persuasive plan.
- Show confidence and control your nerves.
Refreshments (tea/coffee) provided and there will be plenty of chances to network with others from the games community.
About Jon Torrens: I’ve worked as a designer (and experienced the joy of deadlines) at games companies including Criterion and Sony Cambridge, and I was a professional stand-up comic for a few years, so I know how to engage and motivate. Occasionally I can be funny too.
Now, as a coach and speaker, I teach effective communication, using my personal skills to both show and tell. I deliver training for a range of clients including Rare, Sumo, Creative Assembly, Microsoft Research and Cambridge University.
Unique insights from the worlds of computer game design and stand-up comedy enable even the most introverted of my clients to deliver presentations that delight and motivate their audiences.
