Play:UK, Russia - British-Russian initiative aims to establish links between the two countries' games sectors

Ukie are teaming up with the Cultural and Educational Section of the British Embassy in Moscow, Universal University and Scream School to launch a series of games industry inspirational talks and events taking place November – December 2021 as part of the international PlayUK Russia programme.

This is a British-Russian initiative designed to exchange knowledge and experience between the professional community in both country’s video game sectors. Russian audiences will learn about the achievements of the UK games industry whilst British audience will be learn about accessing the Russian game market, involving 1 to 1 sessions to establish links between British and Russian games professionals. There is also a special programme for women who want to develop their career and business in the field of games.

The events are as follows:

A series of 5 talks, via Zoom webinar by UK games industry legends

One a week starting on Monday 8th November at 4pm (then every Monday afterwards at that time)

In this series of events, you will hear from five industry leaders from the UK games industry. They will share their stories, their passions, their successes, and their failures. In many cases they are legends of the industry. But each and every one of them are still at the top of their game, creating amazing, enthralling experiences for the players of today.

Business to Business event UK: Russia - How to trade with the Russian games industry

·       Tuesday 18 January @ 10 am

In this event UK games businesses will hear from leading companies in the Russian games industry on the opportunities that exist today and in the future. Speakers will cover topics including latest market trends, the publishing and investment landscape, how the industry is connected with education and how to protect your IP.

The session will be a webinar on Zoom with live Q&A throughout.

Business collaboration 1-2-1 session with the Russian games industry

·       Thursday 20 January @ 10 am – 3pm

Ukie will lead on a virtual trade mission to connect UK and Russian games industry companies. Once registered you will be sent an invitation to join this event on Zoom and also to complete your profile indicating your potential areas of business. Ukie will match make your interests with Russian games companies and build a meeting schedule for you I advance of the event. On the day you will be connected to potential partners via Zoom breakout rooms for a series of 30 minute appointments.
