The Ukie Careers Bar will be open throughout the GI.biz Fair at EGX 2017 for anyone wanting advice on starting a life-changing career in the games industry.
Across the four days of EGX, our dedicated team of Video Game Ambassadors and games industry volunteers will deliver expert advice about careers in games including technical roles in programming, art and design, through to publishing roles in marketing, PR, journalism, and talks about YouTube, esports and more.
Tangible advice will be available throughout the show for school age pupils, students, and career changers of any age looking to get helpful and realistic personalised advice for how they can get their dream job in games.
This year, we're pleased to say the Careers Bar has more talks and 1-2-1 sessions than ever before and features talks from top names in games such as Unity, Epic Games, Square Enix, Playground Games, Yogscast, Creative Assembly, Rare, Pinewood, ESL, Ripstone, FuturLab, Hutch Games as well as interactive panel or Q&A sessions from BAFTA, Transfuzer and the DIY Do-Indie-Yourself Panel.
VGAs will be on hand at the Careers Bar throughout the expo to provide one-to-one advice on their own experiences in the industry, career histories and to give guidance on study choices and career paths. Visitors are encouraged to bring their CVs and portfolios as personalised job application advice will be available. All talks and careers sessions are run on a walk-in basis and are open to all looking for invaluable and individual advice about how to gain a successful and lasting career in games.
